The National Education Association Foundation is joining the Digital Art Alliance. They will sponsor, with The Pearson Foundation, digital arts programs in school districts that are part of the NEA Foundation's Achievement Gap Sites program.

Toyota announced Thursday that it has donated $1 million and three hybrid cars to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for environmental and cultural education programs for students and families.

Even along the Front Range, there are children who haven't spent time in the mountains. But with help from the U.S. Forest Service, the Cal-Wood Education Center in Jamestown will be able to expose more students to the Colorado foothills.

The Norfolk Southern Foundation awarded grants worth $4.92 million in 2007 and plans to award grants worth approximately $5 million in 2008 to charitable organizations supporting cultural, educational, and environmental initiatives.
