Health Care REIT Inc., a health care real estate investment trust, said Friday it is ending its agreement to buy majority control of 29 Sunrise Senior Living Inc. nursing home properties.

MANILA, Philippines -- An outrigger carrying around seven health workers capsized near a wharf in the island municipality of Tingloy, Batangas province past noon on Wednesday, the provincial police commander said.

Employment in the Pittsburgh region has shifted from steel and heavy manufacturing to health-care providers. The transition, however, has been tough in terms of wages, say those who have made the shift.
