TAMPA, Fla. -- Florida's high school graduation rate climbed again last year, boosted by continuing strides from minority students and a decline in the percentage of students dropping out, according to new state Department of Education statistics.

An overwhelming majority of Georgia's students are meeting expectations on the Georgia High School Graduation Tests (GHSGT), including two of the exams that are aligned to the state's more rigorous curriculum.

BATON ROUGE -- Louisiana's financing formula for colleges and universities should place a greater emphasis on graduation rates instead of being based mainly on the number of students enrolled, the state's higher education chief said Monday.

Chesterton High School students, both college-bound and general-education, continue to out-perform their cohorts on the SAT, ACT, and Graduation Qualifying Exam (GQE).
