THE Merredin Sports Council recently presented the Merredin Shire with a cheque for $20,000 which was the proceeds from the community cropping program last year.

Jim Rodems, director of the Hutchins Street Square Community Center, has been named interim Parks and Recreation director effective Monday. Rodems will continue his role as community center director.
